Plot Summary: Desi Arnaz, Jr. accepts a bet from his publisher to spend the night in an old Welsh estate, where he plans to write his next novel. The writer becomes distracted when an odd assemblage of characters appear, (Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Vincent Price and John Carradine), and people begin to get killed.

Based on the book "Seven Keys to Baldpate". House of the Long Shadows probably makes a better book than it does a film. However, casting is everything. Christopher Lee, Vincent Price, Peter Cushing and John Carradine lead the way in this mystery horror tale of a cynical author Desi Arnez Jr. (why? who knows). The only American in the cast sans Price. It could have been for the annoyance factor. Brits love to hate Yanks who are full of themselves. He makes a bet with his agent for twenty thousand dollars he can write a blockbuster novel in 24 hours. So off to the old mansion in Wales. Soon he finds himself in the center of an ugly family secret. Hapless hitchikers join in on the horror. Interesting to see Louise English of the Benny Hill Show. A bonus for myself being a huge horror fan and Benny Hill fan when watching the film i had no idea English was in it as well. Non the less the film has everything except sex which it doesn't need. It's a good story and fun to hear Vincent Price to call Christopher Lee a "bitch".
