Plot Summary:  An atmospheric Hammer classic starring Valerie Leon and Andrew Keir. When a team of archeologists excavate the tomb of the Egyptian Queen Tera, one of them removes a ring from her hand, releasing a horrible curse. Professor Fuchs realizes that his own daughter, who was born at the exact moment the tomb was opened, may be the reincarnation of the evil Queen.

Filmed with Hammer’s usual distinctive flair, this is a thoroughly enjoyable watch. An interesting note to horror fans is that the name of Leon’s boyfriend character played by Mark Edwards is named ‘Tod Browning’ after the famed director of “Dracula” and “Freaks”. Also notable are the deaths associated with the film; director Seth Holt died during production as did the wife of the film’s original star, Peter Cushing.

The DVD comes with a bonus disc, “Hammer Trailer Collection” filled with twenty great Hammer trailers such as “Dracula Prince of Darkness” and “Quatermass & the Pit”.

The Anchor Bay DVD presents the film in Widescreen (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs. The video quality is excellent, the print is very clear. The DVD has an audio track in English: Dolby Digital Mono. The sound mix is clear and the dialogue can easily be heard above the music and effects. The extras include scene selection, interviews with star Valerie Leon and writer Christopher Wicking, TV spot, radio spots and a still gallery.
